How come I didn't think of that?

Many times in my life I saw something and thought: " How come I didn't think of that? It's so obvious!" I'm sure you have too. And many times it makes me mad. Don't be like me.

Now, this time it REALLY made me mad!

All through my teenage years I had a cork board on the wall in my room full of photos, cutout images, labels, stickers, wrappers and other things I love. My school binder was covered by a new collage every year featuring my favorite images and quotes found in magazines and books (no internet back then. I'm old. Deal with it.) When I was a little bit older a collected HUGE amount of magazines cutouts of decor inspiration and organized it all in a binder divided by room of the house. I currently have a recipe binder that includes stuff printed from the internet and recipes cut from magazines. I also have dozens of folders on my computer with bookmarks, links, tutorials and screen shots of things I love, I want, I want to make and things that inspire me.

SO HOW COME I DIDN'T THINK OF PINTEREST?

Pinterest is a website where you can create different boards to collect images from the internet. They give a Pin It feature which allows you to pin from any website. Then, if you click on any of the images on your boards it will link you back to the original website where you saw it. You can categorize your pins, describe them and you can see other people's pins and follow them (or their boards) so you see their new pins.

The website is full of amazing images, posing and prop ideas, craft tutorials, yummy recipes, style tips and smart quotes.

This is the icon for one of my boards (I already have over 30!)

In the interest of fairness and full disclosure I am forced to tell you: IT IS HIGHLY ADDICTIVE and might cause lack of sleep, family abandonment and highly impulsive buying. I know somebody going through that right now. Don't be like that.

It's going to be a while before I get over the fact that I didn't come up with that idea but that won't stop me from using it!

If you are interested in joining, you have to be invited, so leave a comment and I'll invite you. If you just want to look around go to:

Happy pinning! (but don't say I didn't warn you!)
