First one up is this file cabinet:
This is what I started with. (No, this is not my real cabinet. I forgot to take a before picture because I was too excited to start! But you get the idea.)
And this is what it looks like now:
All I did was paint it with spray paint and cover the front of the drawers with Contact vinyl adhesive. I won't lie, though. Spray painting was so much harder than I thought it would be. It took 4 cans of spray paint and it is not really uniform. I don't know if it was because I bought matte paint or if I didn't do it right, but it definitely does not look perfect. Oh,well. I'll live.
Next up are the bedside tables in our bedroom. For some reason, the finish on my bedside table started to peel off pretty badly. Ben's side was fine. I didn't want to buy new furniture or go through the whole sanding, priming, painting process so I started thinking about an alternative that would be cheap, fast and easy.
This is what it looked like before:

And this is what it looks like now:

I had the posters printed at Costco and we used one of the panels from the window we had to fix in the living room as the table tops. I know it would look much better if I spray painted the tables white or even a bright color, but this will do for now. Plus, I love those pictures!
The last one is not a home improvement project but I thought I'd share it here since it is DIY after all. I was invited to a baby shower last week and I knew I wanted to try something similar to an idea I had seen online. Plus, I remember how much I LOVED getting my baby shower gifts all wrapped in fancy, colorful ways. It was so much fun opening all those cute cards and beautiful gift bags. ( Guilty confession: even after the organization project I still haven't been able to give away the bags I got for Isabella's baby shower. Don't be like me.)
Anyway, I bought a set of onesies, a set of washcloths, some baby spoons and a couple of treat boxes this is what I came up with:
Onesie cupcakes, lollipops and a bonbon! How cute is that?!? Later, I found out that cupcakes are the new mom's favorite so she really loved the gift. There are a ton of similar ideas online and you can buy gift sets like these on Etsy too if you are not feeling particularly crafty.
Oh, how I love a little project!
